The recommended dosage for each GoSlim product varies based on the medication and the individual's health profile. Below are the general dosage guidelines for each GoSlim product. However, it's crucial to follow the specific instructions provided by your healthcare provider, as they will tailor the dosage to your needs.
1. Ozempic® (Semaglutide Injection)
Starting Dose: 0.25 mg once weekly for the first 4 weeks.
Maintenance Dose: After 4 weeks, the dose is typically increased to 0.5 mg once weekly. If additional glycemic control is needed, the dose can be increased to 1 mg once weekly after at least 4 weeks on the 0.5 mg dose.
Maximum Dose: 2 mg once weekly, based on the individual’s response and tolerance.
Administration: Ozempic® is administered as a subcutaneous injection in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm, and should be taken on the same day each week, at any time of the day, with or without meals.
Saxenda® (Liraglutide Injection)
Starting Dose: 0.6 mg once daily for the first week.
Titration Schedule: The dose is gradually increased each week in 0.6 mg increments:
Week 2: 1.2 mg once daily
Week 3: 1.8 mg once daily
Week 4: 2.4 mg once daily
Maintenance Dose: The recommended maintenance dose is 3 mg once daily.
Administration: Saxenda® is administered as a subcutaneous injection in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm, at any time of the day, independent of meals.
2. Orlistat
Recommended Dose: 120 mg three times a day with each main meal that contains fat. If a meal is missed or does not contain fat, the dose of Orlistat can be skipped.
Administration: Orlistat is taken orally with water during or up to one hour after the meal. It is most effective when used in conjunction with a reduced-calorie, low-fat diet.
3. RYBELSUS® (Oral Semaglutide)
Starting Dose: 3 mg once daily for the first 30 days.
Maintenance Dose: After 30 days, the dose is increased to 7 mg once daily. If additional glycemic control is needed after at least 30 days on the 7 mg dose, the dose can be increased to 14 mg once daily.
Administration: RYBELSUS® should be taken on an empty stomach at least 30 minutes before the first food, beverage, or other oral medications of the day, with no more than 4 ounces of plain water. Avoid eating, drinking, or taking other oral medications for at least 30 minutes after taking RYBELSUS®.
